Almost goosebumps to see Sarah Thompson from York University at the @oipassoc.bsky.social panel, talking about how proud they are to support initiatives they judge as in line with their principles. Including so many @copim.bsky.social things 🤩.

Are you working with research outputs that don't quite fit in - often perceived as OTHER - or supporting those who do? Would you like to join an international conversation to improve the infrastructural landscape to better meet the needs of these communities? #Infra4NTRO

Thanks as always to all those @uksg.bsky.social for the #uksg2025 conference - great organisation of everything, interesting sessions, lovely people to chat with and added bonus of gorgeous Brighton sea view this year.

Forgot the hashtag #uksg2025 Am out of practice!
Agree, it's not that everything has to be open to everyone, but it's that what we have got sucked into is so often talk of compliance which detracts very much, I think, from what the point of arguing for OA should be.

Andrew Barker compares open access to Harold Wilson - “a moral crusade or nothing”. But we’ve got bogged down in complex definitions and compliance. We need to get back to the original goals of connecting the public with research. #uksg2025

The answer to "How could we get you to do more Open Research?" Answer was "You telling us to!" - but also giving permission to do what works in their field

Yes! I talk lots about specific guidance being incredibly helpful!

This sounds like a fine suggestion!
If you're an OpenAlex user please consider voting for me in the OA advisory board elections: bit.ly/3Zbhayn . There are lots of strong candidates though I think we can all agree that I am the handsomest, cleverest and modest-est. 1st piece of advice will be for OpenAlex to get a Bluesky account

There’s been good BlueSky live posting from many events in the last year, it would be great to continue & develop this 📚
