Republicans who signed the Epstein files discharge petition are going to withdraw their signatures, aren't they?
November 12, 2025 at 8:40 PM
Call me cynical, but I'm not convinced that, even with the swearing in of the representative from Arizona, that the House will release the Epstein files.

Just a quick reminder to all my friends out there who pay taxes - we are paying for the salaries and benefits of all those members of the House and Senate. Makes your heart all warm and fuzzy, doesn't it?

So, if demand for homes were to increase thanks to 50-yr mortgages, wouldn't that cause prices to rise, thus canceling out any benefits of those 50-yr mortgages?

If I'm hungry chances are good that I won't hear anything you have to tell me until I have food in my stomach.

If I'm not being paid chances are good you're not going to get much work effort out of me.

Doesn't it warm your heart that our elected officials are so willing to accept our suffering so they can stand on their principles?

It's going to be interesting to see if the Republicans are really going to allow the ACA subsidies to lapse. I have a hard time believing they are really that stupid, but I'm often wrong.

Does anyone really think Mike Johnson is going to willingly allow any sort of vote on releasing the Epstein files even after he swears in that new representative?
November 12, 2025 at 1:32 PM
Trump really likes big numbers, doesn't he. That, and gold, lots and lots of gold. Maybe someone should just fill a room full of gold coins, lock him in it, then we'd all be happy.

It's getting much harder to come up with superlatives to describe how I feel about these people and what they are doing to this country.
Calling a prosecutor “deranged” for enforcing the law is the inversion of accountability. Our assessment warns that when leaders portray lawful investigations as persecution, they are dismantling the rule of law itself.
Ed Martin: "What this pardon does is help rescue the people who were hunted. The Biden administration hunted the alternate electors who were participating in our constitutional process in 2020 ... they were Trump supporters who believed in the Constitution."

What I can't quite figure out is, if Trump thinks SCOTUS has been given the wrong numbers, why doesn't he direct his team to give them the correct numbers?
So he’s saying all the tariff money we took in is gone and we won’t be able to pay it back. There was always a possibility he could lose this lawsuit and have to refund the tariff money. We didn’t prepare for that possibility? He’s running the govt like he ran his casinos.

On the one hand I can understand the desire to get SNAP funds and paychecks flowing again but, on the other hand, we're screwed no matter what. Classic rock crushes against hard place.

Can someone, anyone, explain to me how giving money to us to use to deal one on one with health insurance companies is better than participating in pools that are negotiated by the government with the insurance companies?
