Coming around to agreeing with those who say that any filming of the last 3 books would need Alex back. I understand why what happened happened and it made sense, if you never film 7-9. Alex’s character is the emotional heart of the final seasons. #theexpanse

Rereading the epilogue of book nine and realised that there was an faint echo of R Daniel Olivaw in Amos’s final scenes. It’s mostly the vibe as his story arc is very different and may be unintentional but I’d like to think that the authors were tipping their hats to Asimov. #theexpanse

Of the officials who I saw speaking to the public during the pandemic, Ardern was far and away the most reliable on the science, and that includes those with public health expertise. I doubt I’ll see a PM able to contend with that level of detail again
