Still boggles my mind that outside of jsonapi there’s not a single serviceable spec of rest/rest-ish out there. People blame REST for a lot of problems that are really just lack-of-spec.

Are there any NYC frontend/js meetups? Going to be there for work in early December and wondering if maybe I could tack on a few (present and/or just attend)

Most of the folks “on welfare” in my life have been republicans and all of them don’t think that’s what “welfare” is and that there’s some other thing called welfare that just pays people shit tons of cash.
… and they don’t like it mostly cause they don’t get that cash too.
… and they don’t like it mostly cause they don’t get that cash too.
That’s the wild part for me to.
The people that need and use it the most, hate it the most based on nothing but propaganda.
It’s madness.

The Republican messaging behind SNAP has really done a number on people’s brain. Especially the demographic that gets it.

Semi?
For some, the idea of sweating among semi-naked strangers in a small wooden box as hot as 100 degrees Celsius (212 Fahrenheit) might sound more like a sadistic form of torture than rest and relaxation. But others just can’t get enough of the sauna.
The hottest place to be: Why saunas are having a moment | CNN
In Finland, saunas have long been a way of life. But getting hot and sweaty is growing in popularity elsewhere.

Typescript Eslint has a default rule that prevents no bugs and has nothing to do with types but amounts to “we think you shouldn’t create async APIs so we’re going ban use of async and make you write out a bunch of extra promise code”

If your "OSS" project uses Github issue templates and Github discussions I just presume you are closed contribution, stubbornly opinionated and don't fix bugs.

Among the more interesting developments is that MLB has decided the World Series brand is too weak and that small market trail races have a better brand property they should try to latch onto.

“Don’t use much/any JS” and “the web is the best open App Store” are incompatible pick-one opinions both of which are only believed by people who want to be able to tell you what a bad job you’ve done regardless of what you build and how you built it and how successful it is.

There should be a rule where if a game hits 18+ innings in the playoffs it counts as 2+ games for each multiple of 9 it reaches.

Crank is a framework I want to use very soon. Utilizing (async) generators as a first-class component primitive is brilliant.

Two things I’ve noticed since United rolled out starlink.
1 - security tools block using United WiFi
2 - the WiFi is horrendously slow and unstable

Ah yes - github status page. They'll text you only after they've resolved an issue but they'll never tell you when one is currently happening.
since ~10:30am github workflows are counting themselves as already-running tasks and self-cancelling 🙈

I’ve been an Apple user since the Apple II
I’ve never owned anything but an Apple computer.
I’ve never owed a smartphone other than an iPhone. I manage 9 lines.
CarPlay, AppleTV, HomePod, Airbase (in the past), iPods - so many. iPads - a few. AppleWatch - just one.
Stoked waiting for VisionPro 2

Won’t lie - a little feature envy in react on this round.
Not in the “oh React is the rizz” sense - reactive frameworks could all implement this easier and do it nicer, they just haven’t bothered to care because the rough edges around this stuff are far more rare to encounter.
