There's some cursed stuff with the zoom property and safari / Firefox from what I remember of @lea.verou.me 's exploration with it...

Something I can't shake is people seem to assign more humanity and rights and have more sympathy for "AI" than they do actual people.

Totally fine to dehumanize minorities, but if someone attacks and AI, "uwu think of the AI's feelings!"

Please stop anthropomorphizing the LLM. This goes extra for the companies building and marketing them

All this interop stuff with scroll events, scroll snapping, etc.

Think someone could sneak in a fix for locking body scrolling on ios?

github.com/adobe/react-...

Look at `usePreventScroll` from React Aria which is probably one of the most robust solutions...like how is this still a problem...

There is a massive chasm where lawmakers have decided not to touch where fair use, copyright infringement, user safety, etc work with LLMs in particular.

People have gone to jail in the past for such large scale copyright / IP infringement, but its just...okay now because corporations say so?

I mean, i still don't know where I fall on this.

I don't think "AI sucks", statistical pattern matching, machine learning, and natural language processing have been things forever.

The part im hung up on is LLMs and in particular how if you're a large enough company, laws no longer exist.

There's at least a good chunk of people who are either ambivalent, or don't care, because it doesn't concern them, or they don't think its important, or they don't really know about it or care to know about it.

I’m glad to see people protesting Discord forcing IDs for age verification, but what I need everyone to understand is that there’s immense bipartisan pressure to make the entire internet like this, and they are likely going to succeed unless something drastic happens

Some C-suite exec: "Can you show me the password i typed in that was wrong?"

Also, you're not using this password anyways, so its fine to show it! /s
