A big thank you to Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine Svitlana Tereshchenko and MoJ UA, Ukrainian Parliament, MoJ Finland, and our project partners, @democracyreporting.bsky.social and Centre of Policy and Legal Reform, for making last week’s rule of law clinic on law drafting possible.
The Rule of Law Centre organized two clinics in Uzbekistan. First, the staff of the UZ Ombudsman discussed its role as the guardian of human rights and legality.Then at the Tashkent State University of Law, the topic was the role of the Ombud Institution in Finland, Uzbekistan, and globally.

Corruption has a detrimental effect on the rule of law, democracy, and human rights, and it hinders climate efforts and sustainable development. Therefore, anti-corruption is at the heart of our work to support developing countries in strengthening the rule of law.
The global average in the #CPI2024 remains at 43 out of 100 points, with over 2/3 of countries scoring below 50.
Billions of people live in countries where corruption destroys lives and undermines human rights.

@helsinki.fi oikeustieteellinen tdk juhlisti keskuksen johtaja Tuija Braxin 60-vuotissyntymäpäivää kahvitilaisuudella. Yliopiston rehtori Sari Lindblom myönsi Braxille hopeisen ansiomitalin monipuolisesta työstä yliopiston ja yhteiskunnan hyväksi. Mitalin luovutti vararehtori Hanna Snellman.
