So ecologically devastating warming reaching 4°C would cut the global economy, per person, to the level we had in 2000.

Aviation would certainly change - with many more flying pigs!

In a blink of an eye we completely destabilise the climate, with hubris running amok in the modelling community.

Capitalism drives climate breakdown.
Climate breakdown destroys capitalism.

The Guardian, again, mis-framing the crisis.

We shouldn't be trying to save capitalism.
We should be saving ourselves - & everything else - FROM capitalism.

Demonstrates how Europe has no meaningful climate leadership. Eloquent & formally educated ‘leaders’ (across politics & beyond) locked into a simplistic 19 century mindset, totally ill equipped to consider system issues & in thrall to latter-day astrologists & snake-oil sellers (market economists).
Among many horrific revelations in new @irena-official.bsky.social data for 2024 renewables investment, most dismal -- and totally unmentioned so far? -- is this:

Investment in solar and wind combined *FELL* in Europe. Net capacity adds were 73.8GW in 2023. In 2024, they were 4.5% lower, at 70.5GW.
