High fastball that probably has some of that mythical “rise” effect… low fastball dropping at a steep angle… split that gets you caught between. Kinda like he was designed to defeat launch angle swingers.

I think he falls back to the idea of the A swing as a default. We’ve seen him go through stretches of B swing where he looks better… and can hit a fastball backside. That grip and rip never looks good on him.

I really want him to just hit .275-.280 with 10 HR… we don’t need more all pop guys with low batting averages… and he really shouldn’t be one of those anyway.

Funky angle of delivery… in this day and age, everything he throws is offspeed… lefty… it’s a perfect storm. With all the other stuff they have to prep for, he’d be last on the list.

Yeah… he has spells of great writing and sometimes is off a bit, IMO… but he is a master at utilizing Poe’s “Perverse” to make things off enough to be creepy at any moment in any genre. That’s a gift.

When they click, they seem to click all at once… when they don’t, they don’t. I think we are better up and down… but still have some of the same vulnerabilities to certain pitch selections.
