I’ve added in half the elemental skills (all three tiers of each). Having sorted them by power level, by ring, has been so useful for organisation. Really should have started with this.

I’ve changed the ultimates to only trigger on the third light attack, but lessened the required mana for it.

I also added the stats menu to the overworld level up screen.

I added a sort of “piranha plant” animated particle effect to the plant patche to make them more noticeable.

Plus I can increase the size and amount of that with code, which saves on the amount of animation for me to draw.

Got the ice skills for each ring debugged! Really should have started it this way, and used this as the template for the armour. C la vie.

Once you rescue each character, they’ll also unlock new towers!

This part of the code I left for myself was very early and really messy. I really should go back and fix it, but there’s only 3 more towers to put in…

The character unlock system I set up like 6 months ago works as planned!

And it’s all one variable, meaning it’ll be easy to code the load/ save functions later, when I get to that bridge. Everything’s coming up milhouse!

Reused the fire screen wipe from Roid Chimp; I did spend like 36 hours drawing that, so it’s good to get use out of it

Sound effects next, and then setting up the npc’s navigation from the church to the town next!

Figured out how cutscenes will work!

Will continue to clean up animations, and I’m going to add explosions to the handshake, both to screen wipe enemies to reduce anxiety for dialogue, and also because it’ll be awesome

So being a tower defence, I don’t want the game to pause when these happen; so I need to design it to be unobtrusive while also having giant characters talking on screen.

New tower! Shoots canons, which damage enemies, and then explode.

Also, a little bit of rng makes them aim a little worse. Also, lowering their processing power actually helps with that, so that’s a nice accident.

So I slightly darkened the tileset in minimap and it really made everything else pop! That’s been bothering me for a while.

I originally wanted to keep the sprites small and unobtrusive, but big and cartoony looks better!

Mercenary level up and training UI system set up!

At certain levels, more slots open up, which cost more resources over time.

I need to individually add in each items stats, so that’ll take a while, but it’s coming along.

I’ve sorted out the ui interaction/ windows with the mercenary; and now allowing you to give them your extra armour!

Extra weapons upgrade towers, extra jewellery upgrades magic towers! So all junk items might be useful!

I’m not 100% sure why the zombies behave this way; they seem to somewhat ignore the mercenary for either the player or the town…

I guess that’s kinda what I want though? I’ll just pretend it was all intentional. Huzzah.
