I created this poster for an event raising funds for the Meera Centre in Cairo, Egypt, a child development centre that serves children and families who have fled Gaza.

I was inspired by the art the kids made in their art therapy to process their trauma and loss. Many of the drawings are theirs.

Text warning about an April 2 tariff: With this April 2 tariff, Canadian booksellers and publishers will face unsustainable new costs and customers will be faced with book prices beyond what they are willing to pay. Most books will be subject to the new tariff because they are warehoused in the US by publishers and distributors. Books have both US and CAD prices printed on the cover, making it difficult to increase prices to cover the tariff. Alternatively, charging the CAD cover-price and absorbing the 25% tariff (even short term) will bury many independents because the industry survives on an already small margin of profit. The tariff is detrimental to Canadian booksellers and publishers and will result in long-term negative effects to our literary community.

I designed some utility boxes for the city of Nanaimo! This was a cool challenge for me, as illustration is much more my comfort zone than design. I was thinking about local aquatic life that is important but easily overlooked 🐟🪸
