Almost three years ago, I streamed myself playing in Mahjong Soul bronze rooms to an average viewer count of less than 1. That VOD somehow has 28k views now, so it feels right to have a new thumbnail for it. (Thanks @empearts.bsky.social!)

In mahjong, Kan reduces the tiles in the wall by 1, so you can prevent someone getting a turn (especially the last draw) with a well-timed Kan! If you're doing this defensively, make sure you have something safe to discard afterward!

Apparently, Navitas just miscounted the wall draws and thought that the riichi player wouldn't get the last draw, when I already called chii to prevent that ๐Ÿคฃ

Top 2 advances in this tournament, so both of us are trying to end the game with minimal losses. Hence, Kan adding more dora to the game just causes trouble. AND the Kan reduces the wall's tile count by one, so now the riichi player gets the last draw and win big with haitei tsumo. What is going on?
