Was it really *that* long ago Green Day chanted, "No Trump, No KKK, No fascist USA" on American TV?
The people who are saying they didn't know Green Day was political clearly know nothing about Green Day.

We can’t afford to wait as federal agents terrorize us with impunity.

Congress must rein in ICE’s lawless abuses now.
Stop ICE's Attack On Our Communities
An ICE agent shot and killed Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis. This news is devastating. ICE must immediately withdraw its 2,000 agents from Minnesota and Congress must block any new funding to immigration enforcement.

Whenever I think of football, I think about how the NFL had to be taken to court to stop doing race science (for concussion, dementia payouts, retired Black players were considered to have lower IQs to be gin with). www.npr.org/2021/10/20/1...
NFL agrees to end race-based brain testing in $1B settlement on concussions
The league accepted changes after an outcry over test score adjustments known as "race-norming," which make it harder for retired Black players to win dementia awards.

The great journalism of the past has been corrupted by people like Bezos & Musk, and by corporate ownerships beholden to rightwing interests.

Something new will emerge: independent journalism, citizen journalists--free from the old era. It's happening now.
Washington Post is shuttering its book section, part of the ongoing war against literacy & knowledge.

We at Current Affairs want to pick up the slack by expanding book reviews. Writers: pitch us anytime! And if you subscribe/donate we'll use the funding to commission book coverage.
