For a number of reasons, this was a stunningly formative segment from one of the first movies I remember repeatedly watching on VHS. Robert Duvall is a significant reason why it left such an impression. RIP to one of the best actors of his time, or any.

With acknowledgment to Julius Hodge, one of my all-time favorite college basketball players, it took a minute for me to like CP3. I can’t help but admire the breadth of his knowledge of the rulebook, at turns outsmarting literal referees. Salute to the Point God, and this is as good as it gets.
