When I was a Hill staffer in 2009, a Dem trifecta was trying to pass universal healthcare. In response, Senate GOP released a memo detailing all of the tactics they in the minority could use to delay the effort as much as possible. I'm recirculating that 2009 GOP memo here. Take inspiration from it.

In many ways what we are seeing in 2025 is the triumph of Pat Buchanan, who among other things convinced Nixon to veto federal child care legislation in 1971.

None of this is nearly as new as we liberals want to think.

Underreported: Elon just picked the head of NASA—a massive conflict-of-interest that will damage a government entity that he partners with, depends on, and in some cases competes with. The nominated NASA director is a high-school dropout billionaire who is pals with Musk. He has no business at NASA.

This Day in Labor History: January 19, 1915. Armed thugs hired by the Williams & Clark fertilizer plant in Roosevelt, New Jersey (now known as Carteret) killed two striking workers. Let's talk about the Roosevelt Massacre, little known today but part of the violence at the core of capitalism!
