Watching the Abraham Lincoln docudrama on Prime, I thought I'd share some photographs from my trip to DC in 2011.
Included here are pictures from Ford's Theater, as well as of Booth's gun, and a pillow Lincoln rested on afterwards at the Petersen house - across the street from the theater.

After a broken shoulder, chronic pain & then replacement surgery in 2021, I played my first gig in over 30 years. All things considered it went well. Good to be back. Am I back? Probably not. Still a lot of pain & I'm likely on borrowed time. But still enjoyed it.

The operative word here is "emergency". Think about that. Vance is trying to sound reasonable, but these malevolents don't want people suffering life threatening emergencies to be treated. Trillions in tax cuts to billionaires while citizens navigating over bodies in the street would be acceptable.
Vance: "There's a lot of emergency healthcare at hospitals provided to illegal aliens. That was funded by the federal govt. We turned off that funding because of course we want citizens to benefit from those hospital services, not to be taxed & then have those hospital services go to illegal aliens"

River Phoenix - musician, actor, environmental & animal rights activist - would have been 55 years old today. After River died, I stopped eating or wearing animals. I decided that since he didn't have the chance to change the world, he could at least change me. That was over 30 years ago now.

Just got back from an advanced screening of Superman &... I loved it. Much to say but not enough space. 1st act is very strong, 2nd slows a bit, then the 3rd picks up again. Yes, there are a lot of characters, but they are all likeable. Overall, it's unlike any Superman film you've seen before. 8/10

Visited the Anne Frank exhibition in NYC today, where they built a replica of the Secret Annex in Amsterdam. Everything from Anne's room to the bookcase. Very moving. If you're in the area, definitely check it out. It was scheduled to close in April but has been extended through October.

When I visited Martha's Vineyard in 2019, I hunted down and photographed the "Amity" filming locations. Managed to get a couple dozen comparison shots.
Here's a shot of the Orca, filmed in 1974, and the same location 45 years later...
