I've covered sports at various venues for years. I don't think anything will beat the foot of the Eiffel Tower!

Beach Volleyball at the Olympic Games in Paris will forever be a highlight.

I'm going to miss this desk!

Real Madrid, the last club standing in the European Super League project, say they have reached an agreement with UEFA to end their bitter legal feud over the ill-fated project.

When Thomas Frank took the reins at Tottenham Hotspur in June, there was genuine belief that the popular Danish coach could rejuvenate the side.

But eight months on he is another casualty in the graveyard of managerial ambitions at the North London club.

FT: Liverpool 1-2 Man City

That was one of the most chaotic finishes I've seen in the Premier League. Man City stay in the title race. Honestly thought they should have just let that third goal stand after Haaland and Szoboszlai tussled for the ball.

Mikel Arteta on more goals from outside the box in the PL: "It happened in basketball, especially from twos to threes. At the start, it was incredibly high. It's not that easy here to score because of the distance and the crowd that is around the goal. But it's another weapon to have."

Barcelona have officially withdrawn from the European Super League project. That leaves Real Madrid as the only club still advocating for the competition.

India beat England by 100 runs in the Under-19 World Cup final on the back of 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi's record-breaking 175 off 80 balls (15 fours and 15 sixes).

Sixth title for India!

Glad to see coach Hrishikesh Kanitkar doing well too.

Novak Djokovic very gracious in defeat with a brilliant and funny runner-up speech. That did sound like a potential goodbye to Melbourne Park at the end of his speech. #AusOpen

Carlos Alcaraz, you beauty! He's still only just getting started but has already completed the career Grand Slam - the youngest to do so. Beat Djokovic to get there, with Nadal watching on in admiration and approval. Past, present and future. #AusOpen
February 1, 2026 at 11:54 AM
The first set was more of a lesson from Djokovic than a battle as controlled points and dictated rallies against Alcaraz. But in the second set Alcaraz gradually found his range (and some audacity) as Djokovic, who was so precise in the opener, leaked errors at crucial moments. #AusOpen

"Imagine booking for celebrating. Who wants to see managers getting booked for celebrating?

"I bloody will do it again!"

Have to agree with David Moyes here. It's the rule but sanctioning managers for something so harmless takes the joy out of football.

Fantastic comeback from Rybakina from 0-3 down in the final set. Didn't let an early wobble become a total collapse.

Well deserved title after dispatching Swiatek and Pegula in straight sets.
