The hardest thing about software development is to write simple code and keeping it that way despite new features 😅

So my pixel 4a was turned into a brick by the latest update from Google to limit the battery capacity. Planned obsolescence?!

Anyway, grapheneOS turned it back into a semi-usable phone again. It's those moments where I'm very happy open source software exists! 👌

Eventsourcing + Golang = A very enjoyable development experience 🔥

Found an amazing open source software project that I'd like to share: scriberr.app

Such a cool tool to turn any audio file into a transcription using (local) AI models.
Scriberr is still in its early stages of development. The app will have bugs and updates might include breaking changes. Please bear with me in case of any issues. My time on this project is limited as I’m working on this outside of my full-time job. Apologies for any inconvenience.

I was incredibly hesitant to give inertia.js a try, but I'm absolutely sold!

Laravel + Jetstream + inertia.js, what a rocketship 🔥

Ooooh! Pixelbuilds.org, what an incredible find! Minimal Android, perfect for the bricked pixel 4a 😮
Welcome to PixelBuilds!

Gotta love it when Google bricks your phone with a single "mandatory" software update... Time to go plain Android 👌

Currently rediscovering my love for software development by using event sourcing for a project!

So complex, yet so simple 🔥

It's a downer that you need to be active on a social platform to get any traction. I just want to blog and people find it 😂

After years of (off and on) attempting to create a multi-node docker swarm, I've finally succeeded!

I've been experimenting with websockets in Go and storing these events in event store (kurrent). What a breath of fresh air! 🤘

I've always considered websockets and grpc to be difficult, but Go just makes it completely painless. Can't wait to see what the future brings 🙏

Finally got around to setting up a self-hosted recipe manager: Tandoor!

Pretty excited to have those dishes I've tried at the tip of my fingers!

On Friday, I open-sourced my very basic bookmark manager. I like collecting useful links and reference them later on and wasn't very satisfied with current solutions. In March I built my own version and open sourced it after 7 months of private use! Built with #laravel! github.com/roelofjan-el...
GitHub - roelofjan-elsinga/link-that: Link that! is a very simple self-hosted bookmark manager.

My 3 most useful open source, self hosted pieces of software, by far, are these (no particular order):

1. Miniflux, for all my RSS feeds
2. Nextcloud, for storing my files and tasks
3. Jellyfin, for providing me with endless entertainment

What are yours? 🤘 #oss #opensource #selfhosted

These mini PC's are getting too good! They're tiny, pack a surprising amount of resources (16gb ram, quad core intel CPU) and idle at 6w... I'm definitely sold on them! 😅

Which #php or #laravel people should I follow on here?

I'm interested in sharing and learning more from my fellow developers! I'm also very much into #golang, so if that's you too, share your follows or comment so I can follow you!

Want to build the most reliable software? It's not as hard as it sounds: Create workflows that allow you to add functionality without changing your business logic. Code that doesn't change, doesn't break.

I've written software with Laravel for close to 10 years and I'm still amazed by how many (good and useful) packages are released regularly! 🚀
