Welcome, new followers! I specialize in preserving Japanese feature phone (keitai) games. For 4 years, I've helped preserve hundreds of previously-lost keitai games, covering series like Mega Man to FFVII.
For more about me, here's a presentation I gave at the Strong Museum: tinyurl.com/3xyese5c
Today, the #Sega Alarm Clock Sound Sample was preserved! This app is dated to 2004, and it let you download Sega alarm melodies. There was even an online ranking of the most popular melodies! Unfortunately, our copy doesn't have any saved melodies, but you can browse the app.

Last year, LNRC partially preserved CROWS x WORST, a beat-'em-up keitai game based on the eponymous manga series. Today, @yuvi.app created a server, which made it playable for the first time! The game heavily relied on server data, so our copy is a small portion of the full game.

Gundam VS Fighting Spirits Plus, which was preserved last year, is finally playable thanks to @yuvi.app! The game needed a server to function properly. This may be the best keitai fighting game we've preserved so far. It runs incredibly smoothly for a keitai game.

I finally beat #Rockman: The Puzzle Battle! This was preserved last year. The Wily bosses are brutally difficult, but the music remixes are nice. I'm playing on the English patch created by Penguinstrain, Yuvi, and Muttvil. Full video footage can be found in the replies!

Dokodemo Chocobo 1 and 2 are now playable! Released in 2002, these are standby keitai apps and dungeon crawlers! Cuebus preserved them last year. They utilize Mitsubishi's proprietary Z3D graphics engine. The original Z3D plugin is lost, but Irdkwia recreated it with Mesa 3D!

#MAGFest: I've spent 2.5 years preserving games from Japanese feature phones with a small online group, mostly isolated, trying to convince people that these games are important. It feels like, finally, people understand. Words cannot describe how great it feels. Thank you for the opportunity ❤️

Are you at MAGFest? Want to try some preserved keitai games? You're in luck! Come to the Museum/LAN Room and look for @unabandonware.bsky.social's table with 20+ Japanese feature phones! Unabandonware is one of the foremost keitai game preservationists, and she'd love to tell you all about them!

2025 has been an incredible year for keitai game preservation! Your continued support for this small part of gaming history has meant the world to me, so thank you! Here are some year-end preservation statistics from Keitai World Launcher. Here's to an amazing 2026!

Keitai World Launcher now includes the Free-J2MEPlus emulator, which supports EZplus Java games! You can play preserved EZweb games like #Tetris Outdoor, which features Linda from Stretch Panic... an unexpected crossover! KWL will have more EZweb game integrations in the future.

After some SD card bruteforcing, the downloaded i-mode trial of Professor Layton and the Curious Village was preserved by @unabandonware.bsky.social and @yuvi.app ! Unlike the preloaded i-mode trial, this contains all of chapter 1 and is closer to the original DS game (voice acting, cutscenes).

The complete i-mode port of Mushihimesama Futari was preserved earlier this year by @YuviApp! Like the rest of CAVE's i-mode games, it runs surprisingly well on the limited hardware. My longer gameplay video can be found in the replies.

The 2005 i-mode port of IQ Intelligent Cube was preserved by NaoyaShinota! The game was originally released by Sony for the first PlayStation. This is a pretty faithful port to the original game, minus the orchestral soundtrack.

Gameplay of Moba UFO, a 3D racing i-mode game that's now playable thanks to Yuvi's Mobage server revival! It tries (and fails) to save ghost data after a race. This and other online functionality will be revived later. It's amazing to see how far we've come with preserving server-based i-mode games.

Gameplay of Ayane-chan Panic, an i-mode freeware game from 2003! Preserved by Cuebus last week, it has some impressive platforming and wall climbing mechanics! It's always fun to highlight these smaller, more overlooked pieces of keitai gaming history.

Dozens of i-mode games with Mobage and GREE server functionality have been revived, thanks to @yuvi.app! Many are score attack variants of games like Galaga and Taiko no Tatsujin. In the near future, Mobage/GREE leaderboards will be viewable on the Keitai Archive website.

Earlier this year, WN3DL and Kraze preserved Chokkan ☆ Shutokō Battle (C1 Loop)! Released in 2007, the game originally required you to tilt the phone to steer the car, but MemoryHunter was able to hack the game to use keypad controls. The game runs surprisingly well!

Earlier this year, LNRC preserved #Rockman 4's i-mode port! Similar to Rockman X's i-mode port, it contains a ranking mode where users compete for high scores in each stage. We haven't gotten around to reviving Rockman 4's ranking mode yet, but we have for Rockman X.

Several previously-lost Capcom i-mode minigames were preserved by @yuvi.app! Some highlights:
- Breath of Daifugo (based on Breath of Fire IV)
- Rival Schools: Table Tennis Club
- Glory of Athens (three minigames made for the 2004 Athens Olympics)

Thanks to @aid1043.bsky.social and Penguinstrain, Columns Jewel has an English patch! This was a #Columns keitai game that was preserved last year. It has a story mode, where Sana travels back in time after wearing a mysterious bracelet. There's also a puzzle mode with 40 puzzles!

We've found plenty of keitai freeware games, but "Super Merio" has shown up on multiple devices. As the name suggests, it's a Mario clone. Released in 2001, it's one of the earliest pieces of keitai freeware that we've preserved. It has two sequels (?) and even a spinoff called "Dr. Merio."

Gameplay of THE Skydiving, a keitai game released in 2009. This was preserved by LNRC earlier this month. You try to skydive to the ground as fast as possible, dodging missiles and passing through fellow skydivers in the process!

Cuebus preserved DoDonPuchi Zero (ドドンプチ零) and a trial version of DoDonPuchi (ドドンプチ)! Released in 2003, DoDonPuchi Zero was CAVE's first original shooter for keitai. Both were lost to time until now! DoDonPuchi Zero's soundtrack was composed by Namiki Manabu.
