Frustratingly 100% brief and solo views of Hudsonian Whimbrel from Tor Ness The bird flew N. low over the wave cut platform and by the time I had raised my bins I had <30 seconds on the bird. Uniform upper-parts with strong cap and dark lores extending behind eye. @northronbirdobs.bsky.social

A surprise new addition to my south Hampshire garden list this AM. Not just 1 but 2, Hawfinches first thing. This muddy patch is becoming a bit of a mega micro patch, with Brambling last week and a Serin June 2024 feeding on it!! #ukbirding

Scores on the doors this morning at CMO were a pleasing 48/15 (given the cool night & ESE wind) inc. 2 NFY species ~ Brindled Beauty & Angle Shades. Also shown are another neat Twin-spot Quaker & Diurnea fagella, looking snazzy on the birch bark.
