Now that the dust has settled on our Spraoi Siren Sisters show for Samhain 2025, I'd like to thank some people. To my fellow musicians (Fintan, Marc, Andy & Gav) - you're a pack of legends and it's always a gift to play with you! 1/n

Happy Halloween! I’m gonna dress up again tomorrow for our Siren Sisters Samhain Show in Waterford. Will compare with this pic from two years ago and see how much greyer the beard is 😉

This Saturday evening, we’ll complete a triptych of Spraoi Samhain shows in Waterford. The three Siren Sisters will rise from haunted shores and roam the ghostly streets of the ancient city, culminating in a musical finale at John Roberts Square. Put on your make-up and bring your dancing shoes!

Saw Keith Dunphy’s Word Against the Word in Garter Lane Waterford. One man’s story about being a dyslexic actor. Fabulous performance. Fabulous use of sound and visuals. So inventive in its staging! There’s still some tickets left. Go

They'll now be tracking podcasts towards an Academic's Altmetric score. This is very interesting! Blows apart some of the stuff I was talking about at #EPOD25, but it's a step in the right direction for Scholarly Podcasting IMO #podacademics #podcaststudies

So Audacity v4 is on the way. Excellent stuff! For free beginner software, Audacity is great! Though users run out of road fairly quickly. Reading about the developments in v4, it seems they're addressing a lot of the deficiencies. www.theverge.com/news/792368/...
If you can get past the terrible logo, Audacity 4 looks pretty great
Over 25 years Audacity has gone from simple audio editor, to a UX nightmare. If you can get past the terrible logo, version 4 looks like it might fix that.

I mean, there’s a rumour, and I don’t know if it’s so or not, that Antarctica , they don’t have Polar Bears. And they have virtually no Autism, OK. Tell me about that one.

Absolutely 100% on this
I am thinking again of Octavia Butler's "Parable" novels and how more people should have paid attention to them.

As has been the style for the last decade.

Caught 2 bands in Bank Lane last night. #TheSleeveens were fantastic! High-energy punk songs full of kindness and positivity. Great to see Stef Murphy on stage again. Guy is brilliant! As for #TheLemonheads - oh dear. I hope Evan Dando gets the help he needs. Absolutely brutal. Wasted in every way
