Labour has got it so badly wrong. When Yvette Cooper started with 'smash the gangs' I was dumbfounded. I thought she was both sensible & intelligent. I want Labour to show compassion & care for everyone. Their example really hasn't helped with this rise of racism & yobbery we've seen.

Judging by the content of the emails released so far, Trump’s mates didn’t do a very good job of the redaction!

I’d like to know who or what they were looking at/pointing to. Every time I see this clip it looks more and more like two pervy blokes leching at some girl or girls.. and that thing Trump does with his lip whilst ‘dancing’. Just so creepy!

The palace have now confirmed what a lot of us were really concerned about… Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor WILL have a hyphen… strikes me as downright profligate with punctuation! Do they think we are made of hyphens? In these days of austerity this is typical of the tone deafness of the establishment!!

The BBC is ours. It's ours to love. Ours to criticise. Ours to shout at when we feel in the mood.

And if Farage thinks that the way to win favour with voters is to stand around cheering as Trump takes down the BBC for $1 billion of personal enrichment then he's a bigger fool than anyone thought.

Robbie Gibb was appointed to the BBC Board by Boris Johnson, was an editorial advisor for GB News, and worked as Theresa May's Director of Comms.

He is not impartial or neutral. The government should remove him from the Board immediately to protect the BBC's independence.

Absolutely this.
Maybe Keir should demand the heads of major US news networks any time they imply Britain is on the brink of civil war or that we live under sharia law. Or does it not work both ways?

The daftest aspect to me about the whole BBC dodgy editing story is that it was totally unnecessary. Trumps antics are bad enough in reality without the need to make them appear worse. All they need is reporting - instead of which we have a media vacuum.

This deserves revisiting – Farage squirms as Rep. Jamie Raskin obliterates the "Putin-loving, free speech imposter, Trump sycophant."

Please share as widely as possible. We need an antidote to media promotion and protection of Farage.

I wonder if the answer to this is to do with Trump and his carryings-on being seen as a forerunner of Farage and Reform if they get near government here? The warnings for the U.K. are writ large in the US right now! After all there is a vacuum where TV news coverage of Trump’s madnesses should be.
Like why would the bbc need to ‘balance’ its cover of the US in this way?

When the BBC covers, say, Xi critically should it also run a programme dedicated to the CCP’s achievements?

Excellent summary.
the right winger who was appointed to lead the BBC in the hope of appeasing right wingers has been driven out by right wingers for not appeasing right wingers enough and the BBC has the chance to do the funniest thing ever

Is one of the ‘significant challenges’ that Tim Davie led the BBC through that of how to boost Farage/Reform the right wing generally, despite them being totally and utterly incompetent and demonstrably malign?

This is the most abysmal, pathetic thing. The BBC head resigning because the corporation is not supine *enough* to the far-right.
🔴 Breaking I Davie faced mounting criticism that a Panorama documentary misled viewers by editing a speech by Donald Trump

Question for those who know better: have Reform their cheerleaders in the BBC at long last? Any chance of a more balanced approach now? A little less Farage maybe?

There is a strong sense of irony watching the billionaire class hoarding vast wealth to the extent that they are catalysing Trump’s destruction of the system. When that time finally comes, as it surely will, their wealth will become a massive curse to them, & their bunkers will not protect them.
