New paper out where we demonstrate how pop gen parameters and scoring of structural variants (inversions) could be affected by the choice of reference genome (both in terms of both quality and relatedness).

The 2nd publication from @bellareeves.bsky.social PhD thesis finds a genetic rescue effect from admixture between distinct killer whale lineages. Likely the cause of high genetic diversity in regions with low killer whale density. Open access in Mol Ecol: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10....

We identified and quantified TEs and repeats in breakpoint regions in different inversions in the cod, finding that breakpoints are enriched for the same TE classes.
