Today's #5DebutAlbums1014 recommendation. I always forget to shout out my top albums.
Vaccines debut is full of bangers start to finish. Love this album.

Today's #5DebutAlbums1014 recommendation.
I'd totally forgotten about Lissie, her debut album is great, can't put a genre on it as it explores different styles but still works as an album

I actually started my #5DebutAlbums1014 playlist back when I was searching for the 1st round, 1st band I put in it was Temples.
Their debut album is like a best of from a 60s psychedelic band. Every song could have been a single.
And they looked the part, all cheekbones, wirey frames and Bolan hair.

Quite a lot of this round sounds very of its time, both in production and in song and performance. #5DebutAlbums8084
Was taken aback when Swans kicked in thought id accidentally put a 2025 album in the playlist.
Got an Idles/Sleaford Mods sound. Not my cup of tea but interesting to hear dif style

Half way through my #5DebutAlbums8084 playlist I have a top 20.
This isn't my musical era, I don't think its is as good as the music from when I was a teenager/early 20s.
Realising this proves how people perceive music is more about their emotional/mental state and I might never get that rush again

Got my first definite for #5DebutAlbums8084 from a band I've never heard of - Hoodoo Gurus - Stone age Romeos.
Really enjoyed this

Today's #5DebutAlbums0004 recommendation.
Phoenix - United. This band was a mainstay of house parties throughout the 2000s. Not quite the same heights they reached with album 4 Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, but a great debut.

Today's #5DebutAlbums0004 recommendation.
Ordinary Boys - Over the counter culture.
The singer went on to embarrass himself on Big Brother and Nevermind the Buzzcocks, but his band were great, super tight (excellent drummer), well crafted Jam-inspired songs, they were lots of fun live.

The Stills - Logic will break you heart.
The opening track is one of my favourite songs ever. Really beautiful album.

The Cooper Temple Clause - See this through and leave.
This album completely changed the direction, sound and style of my band back at the tail end of 2001.
Thrilling, noisy, dark, energetic synth-infused rock.

Oh great another set of wireless headphones that has decided to give up on me.

A group I'd never heard of Ugly Duckling - Journey to anywhere.
Old school hip-hop. Samples are so well handled I presumed it was performed by a band.

Another album I loved at the time and my neurodivergent brain had forgotten about but I still know every word.
Ben Kweller - Sha Sha. Quirky, super melodic and catchy. Incredibly well crafted indie pop.

Today's #5DebutAlbums0004 listening suggestion. One I'll be listening to for the first time too. My wife introduced me to the song Galileo (someone like you) by Declan O'Rourke. It's a beauty.
Just discovered it's from his debut album from 2003.

#5DebutAlbums0004 listening recommendation of the day.
Here Be Monsters by Ed Harcourt.
Unlike anything else I was listening to back then the songs are often theatrical like musicals which is not my bag at all but I love all the songs on here. Shanghai never fails to put a smile on my face.

Out for Other Side Psych Weekender tonight.

Lovers by Sleepy Jackson. I think Luke Steele is a musical genius and Lovers is his White Album, and it was his debut.
I love every track on here.
He went on to form the more theatrical Empire of the Sun who were also good.

Biggest shock to me of these round of #5albums #5albums50s60s3 has been Sinatra. Never understood the appeal and then I've enjoyed all of his albums in these rounds.
Mid 40s and my aging and battered (ex-drummer) tinnitus ears are finding the Sinatra swing more appealing than the punk rock of youth

#5albums50s60s3 Don't think I've ever explored the Zombies before, lots of covers on this album so not a top 5 contender but what a lovely voice Colin Blunstone has. Their versions of Summertime and The Way I Feel Inside are well worth a listen.
