Now we go from a "big freeze" to a "big crunch", and perhaps, a "big bounce". Fortunately these latest estimates give us billions of years 'til the end.

Nerding out a bit. Just finished reading "A Brief History of Intelligence" by Max Bennett. EXCELLENT read. Highly recommend it.

So, bear with me ... #AI data centers investments are crazy high, and the energy they need too. Yet, the human brain uses about the same energy as a light bulb. Are we down the right path when it comes to #AI?

How did the working age population (ages 15 to 64) change between 2013 and 2023? For one, it increased by 7.3 million. Which racial/ethnic groups were responsible for this increase?

Was not expecting this! Glad to see states are prioritizing technology that will provide what the user needs in five or ten years, not today or yesterday.

The IIR increased between 2017 & 2023. And while tremendous progress has been made in reducing the share of households without internet access, lower-income households are being left behind. This has consequences for upward mobility and quality of life.

While significant progress has taken place in reducing the share of homes with no internet access, this progress is still leaving certain households behind.

Our society will definitely be very different 30 years from now. I think it will be a senior-centric society. In #Indiana, between 2000 and 2024, those under age 15 declined by 13,500; those ages 65 or older increased by 460,000
August 5, 2025 at 1:40 PM
"Scenario modeling based on a potential 30-40% decline in new international student enrollment in the United States this fall could result in a 15% drop in overall enrollment. This drop would result in nearly $7 billion in lost revenue and more than 60,000 fewer jobs."

After analyzing the 2024 American Social Capital Survey, report found that those with fewer years of formal education participate less in community life, are less civically active, have fewer closer friends, and have less social support. Why?
