AI is evolving fast.
Humans? Still catching up.
Respect isn’t built on punctuality or perfection, it’s built on empathy, honesty, and curiosity.
That’s the real upgrade we need. #Edtech #Edai #ai #education

So important that European educator unions are getting together to agree ways forward on AI in both schools and HE - and especially that they are *not* partnering with big AI firms as the US teachers' union has done.
We're doing a European wide study on the state of play, policies, union responses and we're working on exchanging and building best practices and capacity. We'll publish more soon.

Asylum seekers, housed in hotels in Manchester, are reaching out in their own words to address the concerns of the local community.
Please take a minute to read their letter, & share it with the people in your life who need to hear the truth about the people they are protesting.

Six months into our new BRITEthink software journey, and it’s been both exhilarating to see how far we’ve come... and how much we continue to learn. Launching both Arabic and English versions simultaneously was ambitious, but essential to reflect the diverse communities we serve #ai #EdAi #edtech

I was preparing some notes on what decolonising Ai looks like, in the theme of vocational training. It can mean a lot of things, but changing to data or getting it more localised it not enough…the AI entity will still think like a western/euro-centric way

If anyone’s struggled to keep up with my threads on why the genAI bubble
Is a bubble, here’s a simplified pictorial explanation, the plug is OpenAI and the sockets are Microsoft, Meta, Oracle, Nvidia, and AMD

The start of year 2! Today, I’m back at @ucl.ac.uk for year 2 of my EdD. I’m looking forward to continuing my research in AI within vocational education, with interests in technology-social constructivism and decolonizing AI 🤖

An interesting read covering many areas. The key parts which stuck out for me was now 'uneven funding' of adult skills from devolution, it seems to be providing unequal opportunities. It has also impacted many high quality national providers

I had the pleasure of visiting London’s Ismaili Centre today, a truly unique space that blends spiritual reflection with cultural openness and stands as a symbol of pluralism in the heart of the city.
Here is a shot of the roof garden with the tower from the V&A in the background
