Performative politics may seem like a fun or entertaining way to win an election, but it has long term consequences. Call me old fashioned, but I still believe politicians should be public servants committed to serving the greater good.
Ron DeSantis just realized Florida’s short 9,000 teachers. Who would have ever thought that demonizing educators, banning books, and turning classrooms into warzones might make people quit?

A few takeaways: (1) #Highered institutions are better at enrolling students than retaining them; (2) They need to improve their processes for identifying at-risk students & providing support; #AcademicSky #EduSky

1/2 I've either observed or experienced every one of these. It's even worse when the image of a leader or supervisor comes to mind, because that person sets the example & creates a work culture for the entire department. #AcademicSky #EduSky

1/2 Quality assurance is the wheel that steers the ship & keeps it from sinking. It requires having experienced staff to make sure #highered institutions are using solid assessments, are collecting & analyzing data, & helping admins to make data-informed programmatic decisions. #AcademicSky #EduSky

100%. Cancer is a relentless, often silent killer and even if you survive, it changes your life forever. There's no room for even a syllable of unkindness toward anyone afflicted with this horrible illness.

We can survive without our precious electronic devices & other modern conveniences, but we won't be on this earth long without bees. Organic gardening is the way to go. Marigolds and mint worked wonders in keeping the pests at bay in my garden last year, & milkweed attracted the butterflies & bees.
Today, over 20,000 bee species are buzzing for #WorldBeeDay 🐝

Bees & other pollinators keep 80% of crop and wild flowering plants alive.

Yet, 1 in 10 bee, hoverfly, and butterfly species are now at risk of extinction in the EU.

Each #highered institution has a unique mission & plays an important role in educating our citizenry & workforce. It's a shame to see so many struggling. Only those who are visionary, strategic, & nimble enough to make data-informed changes will likely survive.
