I'm excited to find out how the parallels w/ Alastor's need for control play out. Vox seeks ultimate power to be admired by society (and thus "worthy"), but Alastor seeks ultimate power to be totally free of society's influence (and thus "safe"). They're diametrically opposed and I am FASCINATED.

To this day my favorite silly speculative biology hc for Alastor is that his synovial fluid lights up like a glowstick when he snaps his joints every which-way like he does. If he wasn't buttoned up from chin to toe all the time you'd see it through the skin, especially the spine.

My main takeaway here is that I need to stop only designing bg characters after just anthros and cryptids, bc all the in-show Sinners based on inanimate objects are so fucking fun, and I'm letting too much potential pass me by.

IMO a misunderstanding in HH fandom angst re: characters being hypocrites is that depicting hypocrisy isn't an issue, it's how hypocrisy is FRAMED. If the narrative acknowledges and uses it, it's good storytelling - if the narrative glosses over it for plot or favoritism, THEN it merits distaste.

Redemption would consist of repairing their relationship, rooting out the issues that started their vendetta, then figuring out how to forgive each other and move on for their own mutual benefit. Their Winner forms would still be conjoined, bc by then they know they were always stronger as a team.

Got to the part of the radiodust murder duet where I get to write Angel in combat, and every time I get that opportunity I remember how much I fucking LOVE playing w/ the speculative biology of a demonic humanoid spider. He's the pinkest, prettiest horror monster I ever did see and he terrifies me.

AotM!Al finds his concept of IT-ness deeply empowering, and while this doesn't help w/ his tendency to set himself apart rather than seek support from others, there IS something to be said for how it opens up a gender-null space for him to experience his identity in isolation.
