On this day in 1948, an all-white jury sentenced a Black woman and two of her teenage sons to death for killing an armed white man in self-defense.

more cultures have myths that boil down to 'a guy was welcomed into a place, ate their food, and then betrayed them and for this act of cruelty and cowardice he was murdered by the gods themselves' than they have proper creation myths, btw.
