UPDATE: Three days on, disabled veteran and US citizen George Retes is still missing after being kidnapped by ICE.

His wife has phoned every law enforcement agency in the area, they all say they don’t know where he is.

It was his daughter’s third birthday yesterday.

This is America now.

Can confirm this email is authentic — and about nothing in it is true.

Social Security income is still taxed. This bill does nothing to change that.

It’s willful disinformation on the part of SSA. It’s a lie.
Hi, I think a lot of us received e-mails from SSA saying that social security will no longer be taxed - and that somehow there is "enhanced deductions" (how much enhancement can you make to 0?) for those over 65. What part, if any, of this is true? Thank you!

Our unofficial crowdsourced estimate of yesterday’s protest turnout is rising to 4.2-7 million as we gather more data. At this point potentially the second-largest single day of protest in U.S. history! www.gelliottmorris.com/p/no-kings-d...

I’m probably preaching to the choir here but this is utter BS. In my time in public radio, I’ve seen my reporting cited by both Ds and Rs and people who were some of the last I expected to even be listening.

This is going to hurt most to rural stations who don’t have big donors to help step in.

CO2 concentrations grew at a record-breaking speed in 2024, a recent NOAA data analysis has found. It’s one of the agency’s biggest scientific findings of the year — yet the research largely has flown under the radar after NOAA officials took steps to minimize the announcement

So, the DOGE kids intend to rewrite the social-security administration's COBOL code-base!

and they want to do it ...

... in *a few months*

I did a huge dive into COBOL a few years ago (www.wealthsimple.com/en-ca/magazi...) ...

... so let me explain why DOGE is *way* over its skis here
