The government takes all its cues from private sector. We've been indoctrinated to believe government is inherently inefficient, but all of its worst qualities are from douchebag CEOs with MBAs.
Two things I’m not sure is widely understood:

1. Many public servants no longer have their own desks and work in transient government co-working spaces

2. Many describe a Kafkaesque existence of going to physical offices only to spend their time on video calls with the people sitting next to them
Federal public servants called back to office 4 days a week starting this summer | CBC News
The federal government expects its employees to return to in-office work for a minimum of four days a week starting this July.

Charlie is willfully misleading his followers. The article literally says the decision about whether to purchase the F-35 is deeply political and that Canadians prefer the Gripen, but that pilots still need to be trained on them which is where the politics falls away.

Whenever someone says no politics there’s a lot of politics going on.
“No place for politics in political decisions” is itself a political position
CBC continues to scold Canadians on the need to keep our "politics" out of the discussion on whether we get strong-armed into buying the F-35.
Lol... the F-35 is all about politics.
It is the politics of threat and intimidation against our independence.

getting into Star Trek TOS for the first time is watching a random episode that fills you with grief and a new perspective on humanity, then going on IMDb where the episode is rated 6.2/10 by fans

and then another random episode where they’re battling three witches and their black cat. also 6.2/10

SHE’S FINISHED! My 5-foot-long Enterprise D oil painting is complete after nearly 100 hours of work!

I remember being 13 years old or so and trying to draw her and it was so hard, and all I wanted was to be able to do something like this. Truly a dream come true. 🥰🖖

I hope they plan to appeal because that is not a precedent that should be floating around.

Can you imagine if this was a precedent in Minnesota?? Anyone ICE isn't assaulting or killing would be sued for literally blowing a whistle.
A Canadian jury convicted a protester of criminal assault for sounding an electronic whistle at a Conservative MP:

"Superior Court Justice Charles Hackland told the jury there were no legal precedents for the assault charge: assault with a weapon normally involves touching someone with that object"

My favorite artifact in the "you don't need AI to do art" discourse is, of course, screenwriter Dan O'Bannon's sketch of the facehugger to explain it to Giger.

I have my many complaints on the current reboots, but at least we didn't have the All Good Things/The Visitor/Endgame future uniforms for the late 24th/early 25th century....

Blueskyese and Xian share an obvious common root as both being Twitteric languages, the difference is that after the split Xian became a hybrid Twitteric/Channer-linkedin tongue, while Blueskyese changed less overall but did pick up some tumbleric and redditor loanwords
yeah Bluesky is primarily a Tumblric language
