I'm very happy to see that our article on the coupling of the chemistry and energy sectors has now been published in a more general public format @spektrum.de I hope everybody enjoys and understands the possibilities 😉 Thanks Werner Siemens Foundation and @freieuniversitaet.bsky.social for support.

Thanks it is a wonderful conference!!!!!
We have reached almost at the end of this fabulous session. To wrap it up, we have a fascinating talk by @riedellab.bsky.social from @freieuniversitaet.bsky.social about the Chemistry of halogens and their compounds. Dive in with us into the world of halogen, cheers!

Thank you for highlighting our work! It was a great cooperation between Finland, Spain and Berlin😉
Metal–metal bonds are common in complexes, but similar bonds between non-metal and metal cations are much rarer. Chemists have now created a complex with two silver–iodine bonds, which could open the way to new complexes with unconventional bonding.
Discovery of unusual iodine–silver bond opens up new possibilities for coordination chemistry
Crystallographic studies reveal that the bond is similar in length to typical metal-metal bonds

Excellent day! The second paper @angewandtechemie.bsky.social is now online. The liquid substance FSO2OSF5 is an ideal synthone for releasing SOF4, SO2F2 and OSF5–. This helps for SuFEx reactivity like -SO2F or -N=S(O)F2. Great work of Alex and team. CRC 1349

Many thanks to @chemistryworld.com for highlighting our work on HEAVY ATOM TUNNELING of FLUORINE!!! Great result of the CRC 1349 and colleagues. We look forward to the next big step in fluorine specific interactions 😉
Quantum tunnelling may be common at the tiniest scales, but no one had ever observed the phenomenon in fluorine - the element was simply thought to be too heavy. Now, this accepted wisdom has been upended in new experiments that observe fluorine tunnelling
