If anyone else is very upset by the unrelenting fireworks that seem to have become the norm, you can sign this petition.parliament.uk/petitions/73...
Petition: Limit the sale of fireworks to those running local council approved events only

@deeplyclassical.bsky.social You may very well own one incarnation of this, but I do think this special offer is something of an absolute bargain from Presto. Interested parties can find it easily: it does take some time to download, especially if one of the 'posh frock' file formats! c. 9 GB.

Fuck off Elno you cunt.
We know who you’re siphoning money into from your rancid purse strings, and we know why.
I hope the British secret service keep a close eye on this one. He’s an enemy of the state.

The Daily Express has been fined 'nine times' so far this year by IPSO over inaccurate headlines but you would never know it.

I do think it about time R4's BH was re-titled as BS. Absolutely every utterance from Paddy O'Connell drips with sneering and anti-left rhetoric, and has done so for years. Tired of it now.

Here's hoping Martin Carthy walks off with the Mercury Prize tonight. Peerless, and an object lesson in minding one's work whilst paying one's dues. Never stole, nor looked for credit. And that reminds me of a forever favourite song:

I finished and signed The Beatles. I just have to varnish them, then package them up for shipping to @quirkyfox.bsky.social gallery in N.Z.

Details on this quadriptych, and the exhibition in which it will appear, to follow in due course.

Re-posts appreciated!

Just a tiny tipette, government: if you're hoping to instill confidence over introducing new, potentially controversial legislation, then avoid a spokesperson who sounds, with due respect, like a fourth lead from Wallace & Gromit #today

I've written to Keir Starmer, Kemi Badenoch and Nigel Farage, urging them to join me in condemning Elon Musk's dangerous remarks inciting violence yesterday.

As leaders, we must stand together and make clear Musk will face serious consequences for these actions.

Dear Bluesky admin people

Any chance of the 90% US politics timeline you push at me expanding to include more humour, sport, arts and general fun stuff?

No?

Well, this is awkward.

I've heard of this several times, and listened to an entire R4 radio programme on it, yet our right-wing media seen veerrrry reluctant indeed to cover it? I wonder why?:
The way that housing co-ops work in Switzerland may seem foreign to many. But the central idea is simple: What if homeownership had no profit motive and no capital gains? Advocates say their model could reshape how the world thinks about affordable housing. www.nytimes.com/2025/08/26/r...

Blimey. I like Richard Ayoade, but he really needs a script for live work. And Paul Merton really needs a break from the many, assorted gravy trains he's ridden with, um, frequency.

BBC's habit of using nicknames for women's teams in both events and reports rather than the nation or club smacks of some evangelical crusade from the desks of Tristan and Clara in W12. However, Ireland remains 'Ireland', etc, etc. Malory Towers forever!! Jolly Rugger Boots, what?!
