Anti-populist, reading, cycling, walking, postcrosser, Amnesty International, supporter of and (very minor) shareholder in Lincoln City FC, jazz and folk music.
A poignant wartime love story and a beautifully written evocation of the French countryside in summer. It’s also about resistance and collaboration and all points in-between as well as the sheer nastiness of fascism and fascists. Written in 1944 but so relevant 81 years later.

An exploration of how the memory of a lost loved one persists. Jan, a Dutch engineer, travels to help drain the English Fens. He falls in love with Eliza, a Fenwoman, but heartbroken leaves for New Amsterdam. Falsely(?) convicted, Eliza is transported to Virginia. A compelling novel.

Ken Bamford Reform Councillor, Lincolnshire County Council, works for StrongMind. His cv has some surprisingly ‘woke’ comments about neurodiversity. Ken, why not declare who employs you so we can all applaud a Reform Councillor who stands up for DIVERSITY?

Alistair Arundell, Reform UK's Councillor for Boston Coastal, Lincolnshire.

Runs 41 businesses - does he have time to be a councillor?

He quit after 5 months last time he was. He quit because he couldn't commit time to giving the job 100% (his words):

The words people associate most closely with Reform are ‘dangerous’ and ‘racist’. To defeat Reform in the Lincolnshire mayoral election the tactical choice is Labour (Jason Stockwood).
