As part of the CHA, we recently launched our report “Active Travel: The Magic Pill.”

It shows that embedding active travel into daily life brings major health and environmental benefits for everyone.

And yet, @dubcitycouncil.bsky.social continues to build active-travel 'infrastructure' like this.
Freshly laid tarmac, freshly painted death lane.

How is this an acceptable standard in 2025 @dubcitycouncil.bsky.social? Paint ≠ infrastructure.

We deserve wide, fully protected cycle lanes that support a healthier, safer, more sustainable city.

This simply isn’t good enough.

Today is World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims. Everyone has been affected, or knows someone who has been effected, by accidents on our roads. Sadly, the number of deaths on Irish roads has been rising for the past number of years.

#Week15 milestone - going since 6 Aug!

#Uninterrupted weekly protests by a #community under significant #traffic duress.

When will our Council #meaningfully engage? To help enact DCC policy?

Great initiative. Not just cities either Roads in the countryside are narrow. Every morning on my way to my daughter’s nursery, Im forced to stop or veer into ditches by SUVs that are pristine & seemingly incapable of going slightly off road. It’s hair raising seeing them charge unwaveringly at you.
Cardiff will be the first UK city to introduce a surcharge for oversized SUVs and trucks, "while very large vehicles – those over 3,500kg – will be excluded from residential permits entirely."
Cardiff set to tackle SUV 'carspreading' in UK first
Cardiff Council is set to become the first local authority in the UK to introduce higher parking charges for SUVs and other heavy vehicles, in a move campaigners say will make city streets safer and f...

This delay and the dilution of language to “where appropriate” are not harmless compromises. They will cost lives.
Local authorities to implement 30km/h speed limits in urban areas ‘where appropriate’ from 2027
Speed limits on roads in built-up and urban areas can only be changed where a majority of the elected members in a local authority vote to do so.

Thank you to everyone who lent their support last week - you are much appreciated 🙌

The @gardai.bsky.social were fantastic. Lots of coverage that we hope raises awareness of our daily lived experiences (& action - @dubcitycouncil.bsky.social 🤔).

It's a bit jarring to see how little has changed in terms of public realm and traffic for Richmond Road in the last 20 years (and longer).

In fact, the 2007 Richmond Road Area Action Plan has the following line "Richmond Road remains a 'rural' type road with little change since its inception".

We'll be peacefully, joyfully taking to our street tomorrow morn 07:30- 08:15, to drive real engagement from @dubcitycouncil.bsky.social on a #filteredpermeability trial to create #safe space for people.

Here's some action from #Week3 of our #footpathprotests for a #liveablestreet on #RichmondRoad 📢

We need @dubcitycouncil.bsky.social to release Richmond Rd traffic report & work with us to trial #filteredpermeability.

Been at it 9 weeks now - with big plans for 8th - watch this space!
Out again with residents supporting them on week 3 of Richmond Road Liveable Streets Campaign. Protecting their pavements and campaigning for a cleaner, quieter, safer, greener street so they can enjoy, living, working and playing in theor neighbourhood. 💚🌻🐝🌳#streetsareforpeople #liveablestreets
