My wife’s aunt came from Ethiopia to the states for what was expected to be a simple medical procedure that did not go as planned. Sadly, she passed this week and the family is hoping to raise money to send her home to be buried in her country with her husband.

I’ve never had a personal experience using Medicaid or Medicare, but a friend of mine who has a special needs son on Medicaid explained to me what it’s like.
The short of it was those who receive it already have to go through a lot to get it. Why? Because the government is ensuring it’s needed.

About once a day, I still think about the time @therichmondjohn.bsky.social reminded me that real fraud would require criminal prosecutions -- of which there would be hundreds of thousands if Musk's "government fraud" stuff proved true. They won't come, further proving how farcical this all is.
