Every technological advance of the last 30 years has been designed to let stupid people feel like smart people without actually having to do the work of getting smart. We didn’t remove the barriers to knowledge or education; we simply removed the need for them.

I get the appeal of what Musk is doing. Time, at last, to clean house! Time to empty the attic and garage and throw it all away — and better someone unsentimental do it for you.
