i think it’s because i am still subconsciously of the belief that if i could i was good enough at drawing, it would solve all my problems so it feels like i’m far away from happiness when the distance is made apparent
but really i wanna be able to enjoy the process again and make that my priority

i find it so difficult to make finished pieces lately because doing so forces me to confront the reality that my skills are so far behind where i want them to be. it feels like committing to making myself upset later when i try really hard to make something good because that’s usually what it does

i try not to be too negative about my art publicly anymore because i don’t like to come off as if i’m pity farming but i really need to get off my chest the fact that it’s felt like for the past 2 years i’ve been in a slump art-wise and it suuuuuucks 🫠
