For no reason today i am thinking about how in the Wicked novels, the Wizard of Oz imposes a ban on talking Animals existing in public, bars them from holding teaching jobs (or any job really), and 20 years after he leaves Oz and the laws are repealed, Animals still don't have teaching jobs again.

Why is every video on YouTube shorts 10 months old? Also I like one video and suddenly 50% of the next 30 min is that one creator? I know that algorithm was not as good as TikTok but...like ..do they actually have an algorithm?

Been trying YouTube shorts for a few days (because fuck meta) to prepare for the TikTok shutdown and it really drove home the difference between a random stream of videos and what felt like a real community
