Had to try and make two minor household repairs today and boy is the internet less use than it once was.

These new varifocals, and not the wine I drank last night, have given me a headache.

2006 Jane Eyre with Ruth Wilson is on iPlayer. Four 1-hour eps. Got to be worth a watch, but what about my love for the 2011 Mia Wasikowska version?

Enjoyable and fascinating @davidolusoga.bsky.social talk on guns this afternoon. Almost whooped when a Commando comic appeared, big part of my childhood.

Also reminded me Field Marshal Haig was born in Edinburgh - Charlotte Square, 10 mins from venue.

Still a lot of World Cup qualification chat on the streets. Guys stacking shelves in Lidl trying to work out how old they were last time this happened.

Love this framing of York’s existence. Weird the York Tourist Board didn’t think of this.
York, a city between London and Edinburgh, is home to a thriving Christmas market where you can buy handmade goods, German sausages, mulled wine, and more.

I see Amazon now allows me to purchase 16yo Lagavulin on a three-month payment plan.

Terrible idea. Terrible.

Petition for cinemas to show TV episodes. I have time to kill. I could happily pop into Vue for a couple of sitcom episodes, or a rewatch of some prestige TV. But I *don't* have two hours or more, nor am I in the mood to drop cash on something which might disappoint.

Also, maybe rent slippers?
