Manic pixie dream bloke. New in these parts. Old everywhere else.
Love the little puff of hot chocolate dust as I tip the end of the jar into a mug. Makes me feel like I’m making a potion.

Seen yesterday on the side of a van belonging to a local mobility scooter shop:

“The best a gran can get.”

And in my last act of the working week I dispatch a reviewer’s suggestions with detailed reference to the style guide. Weekend time!

Boy, did I pick a good day to make a big pot of nourishing soup.

They should put 2FA on the nuclear codes, because that is not a man who can hold a six-digit code in short term memory. Or write one on the back of his hand.

Nor is it interesting or newsworthy.
Beckham family estrangement is neither rare nor unique, say therapists
Family splits are more common than people realise and are typically caused by abuse, new partners and differing beliefs

Of all Trump’s crimes, the worst is possibly causing me to wake up, stagger into the kitchen, turn on the radio, and hear someone banging on about the UK-Chagos agreement again.

Herself is watching Gray's Anatomy and I swear every time I walk past the TV one of the doctors is the one who needs treatment. It's like Casualty but every week Charlie and Duffy take it in turns to get ill.

This is a little bit of a long shot, but won’t hurt to ask - does anyone know of any books / articles about the planning / logistics of polar exploration, Heroic Age or a little later. What foods, what allowance for loss/spoilage, what weight on a sledge, distances per day, etc.

If there was a bounty for spotting typos in decade-old books I would be rich. Does anyone know if there is such a thing?

Obviously don’t like any of my books to suffer water damage, but if it must happen N. A. M. Rodger’s “The Wooden World: An Anatomy of the Georgian Navy” seems an appropriate place for the leak to spring.

Off into the remote Highlands for a walk I do every winter. Forecast isn’t great and suspect this might be the year I opt to call it off. Have shifted timings to avoid bad weather before, but this would be the first time I’ve gone out only to come back.

Not enjoying the “relive your childhood” ad for something I remember enjoying in my late twenties.

Feck me, lot of tectonic uplift overnight. Everyone okay?

Making first online purchase since deciding to try and avoid Amazon. It's going to cost more, come slower, has fewer colours to choose from, and all I'm doing is buying from some other megacorp.

Not sure we should boycott Amazon, I think maybe we should nationalise it instead.

Wednesday quote, which as you all know I provide every week without fail;

“The way we have decided to live on this planet is sinister and strange.”

Turn on Radio 4.
Shout at Radio 4.
Do job, relax, sleep.
Repeat.

They're making a list, they're checking it twice;
They're gonna find out who's naughty or nice...

...is, I assume, how Edinburgh Council is currently allocating bin lorry time to my street.

Is it a soup? Is it a stew? Too early to say.

Can’t be doing with regular Traitors now. Celebrity Traitors ruined me for it. I want National Treasures, RADA trained actors, finely honed comic timing. Nothing less will do.

Surely the correct term is abducted? Kidnapped implies Venezuela can get him back for a ransom.

Anyone else forgotten how to type? Took me four minutes just to tap this out.

Is there a single site people recommend for finding / saving / marking as want to / have read/watched for BOTH films and books, or do you inevitably end up with two sites? And which sites are they?
