This summit was held in San Antonio, TX from Nov 12-14, 1992. The event was co-chaired by Dr. Angel Ramos and Susan Karchmer and highlighted three key pillars: Education, Community, & Family. As part of the conference, the NHCDHH, now called Council de Manos, was officially established.
A stylized poster in teal shows bilingual text about the Hispanic Deaf community. At the top, in the script, it says “Unity and Strength.” In the center, large block letters read “The Hispanic Deaf Experience.” At the bottom, the same message appears in Spanish: “La Experiencia de los Sordos Hispanos – Unidad y Fortaleza.” Simple decorative symbols frame the text.
