Religion is the last refuge of scoundrels and has been used since the dawn of history by empty vessels who use religion as a shield to hide their true intentions or misdeeds. No one fits that description better than a puppy killer with way too much makeup.

250 years ago we started liberation from tyranny. We must again. We’re up to the task. We need to leave our comfort zones temporarily. They’ll be waiting for us when we win this war

The coinciding of Passover and Easter begs reflection about the central tenets of each faith. Both are liberation stories. Each teaches that the powers of oppression that dehumanize people cannot succeed against the power of God. Today Jews and Christians must live these truths by defying tyrants.

The best way to know you believe in religious liberty is to defend someone else's. That may not be the intent of the First Amendment, but it is the proof of it.

I am a Baptist minister, and I believe in religious liberty. But attempts to root out discrimination against Christians by the Trump Administration amount to privilege not freedom.

Meanwhile over on the other place, rightwing free speech warriors (this guy is a former DeSantis campaign staffer) are calling for me to be denaturalized and deported because they don’t like my political speech. This is what fascism and racism looks like, folks.

All owned by the same guy who’s now in charge of our federal government.

Jamar Tisby cites Robert Sellers, former chief diversity officer at U of Michigan, comparing DEI to a high school dance.

“Diversity is where everyone is invited to the party. Equity means that everyone gets to contribute to the playlist. Inclusion means that everyone has the opportunity to dance.”

Random thought from my wife on the first day of 2025: we lost 1 million people in this country to COVID and you never hear a word about the effects on that on the economy or our social fabric.

President Carter defined what it means to be a servant leader. He fought for our democracy, our climate, humanity, and civil rights around the world. We can find peace today knowing that he is reunited with the love his life, Rosalynn.

A rare example of a public servant and President who used his status to do more good after he was in office.

I'm grieving the death of President Jimmy Carter. He was the epitome of a public servant who stayed true to his faith without imposing it on others through the power of his office. I wrote more about his legacy for the separation of church and state for TIME: time.com/7204048/jimm...

What’s the point of having a mouthpiece to protect your teeth while playing football and then you leave it dangling from your face mask when the ball is snapped? What am I missing?

This Christian pastor too.
Angela Buchdahl at Central Synagogue in NYC is one of my favorite preachers. She hit it out of the park with tonight's message. Thank you Rabbi Buchdahl! Watching Central's services every Friday night is part of this Christian pastor's soul clock. www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Vq1...
