RIP Alasdair MacIntyre. I will be re-reading After Virtue, 3 Rival Versions and Dependent Rational Animals til I die. My first book emerged out of this passage I read in After Virtue. There I found the language to criticize our obsession with growth and a framework for a better approach to mission.

The spiritual senses are a major theme in scripture that is unaddressed in many Biblical overviews. I include this sidebar in Four Mountains @lexhampress.com to introduce the topic. It's a great way to describe what is happening in the mountain theophanies at Eden, Sinai, Tabor, Zion. a.co/d/bCFE7ko

My 1000-word review of Ross Douthat's new work. The book will be really helpful for those with almost no religious background. It does bring up interesting questions about Ross's particular stance of Christianity vis-a-vis other religions... www.thegospelcoalition.org/reviews/beli...
Ross Douthat Breaks Down Barriers to Faith
‘Believe’ may help those hostile to religion of any kind open up to the gospel, though further help outside its pages may be needed to guide them to acknowledge Jesus Christ as the way, the truth, and...

One of the simplest ways Christians can fight our culture's horrific treatment of the vulnerable elderly is to minister in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. For anyone interested, I help volunteers start worship services within these facilities: heritage-mission.com
Eventually Christians are gonna be spotted as the people with more than one kid, kids with disabilities that can be detected in utero, and their sickly and elderly still with them.
In light of this sad news, Dr. Ewan Golligher’s 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘚𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘞𝘦 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘋𝘪𝘦? 𝘈 𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘯 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘗𝘩𝘺𝘴𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘯-𝘈𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘋𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩 is an excellent resource. You can hear my conversation with him about it here: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/d...

We just started an additional worship service in the memory care unit of the assisted living facility I serve. It was extraordinary to see residents who have been deeply formed by scripture and hymns continue to worship Jesus even with advanced dementia.
