We celebrate 12 years of Alphasat's launch 🥳 This satellite provided mobile coms to Africa, and parts of Europe and Asia 🤳 Images of phenomena on Earth, taken by Sentinel-1A, were also sent back to Earth thanks to Alphasat back in 2014 🌍

On Friday 28 Nov, 7 CubeSats were launched into space 🚀

They will provide services from better spectrum use understanding and improved ship tracking, to helping agriculture and ecosystem tech in remote areas 🌊🚢🚜🖲️

How do we get those stunning views from the ISS back to Earth?🌍🌌

Thanks to ColKa, partially, the Columbus Ka-band antenna installed five years ago outside @esa.int's Columbus laboratory.

🛰️The data is first sent to the EDRS-A satellite before it goes back to Europe, via a ground station in the UK.

🛰️ Final preparations – the next two Galileo navigation satellites to be launched are inside the Ariane 6 fairing for flight #VA266.

Inside the protective ‘nose cone’ the satellites will not see sunlight until after liftoff on 17 December.
