Advance must be worried. How will they get hold of all that Musk money now?

That’s quite a good choice for the variant cover (1,000 copies) of the new edition of Judgement on Gotham

This is the version Marvel UK printed. It’s interesting for me to see after all these years what was originally in that empty box at the top of the page

I’m not greatly surprised to see Cherry Red records using AI art on their album covers

And they haven’t released an album since, though they are still sometimes playing live and there’s supposed to be new music being released at some point

I did wonder if this was David Lynch making an appearance in Laura Pérez’s Nocturnos. It would be fitting

That’s quite a brutal cover for a comic aimed at kids.

No not the free gift…

On the one hand:

Well? Are you prepared?

On the other hand:

Shouldn’t that have a question mark at the end, not an exclamation mark?

It’s traditional on Super Bowl day for me to post this page from Marshal Law by Pat Mills & Kevin O’Neill. A page that has stayed in my head since it was published in the late 1980s.

So whose side were you on on the all important burger war?

I really don’t think I’m the first person to raise an eyebrow over this Aliens advert/cover

In 2011, John M Burns proposed illustrating Modesty Blaise in colour. He used existing strips from the story "Top Traitor" drawn by Jim Holdaway (whose work he admired - he had a Holdaway original framed in his studio) in lieu of a script. Here are his examples alongside the Holdaway strips.

Cover dated 50 years ago today, Dracula Lives #68.
This week Dracula visits ‘The Halls of Parliament’.
Plus there’s a UK exclusive Carl Potts drawn pin up of Frankenstein’s Monster (see next post)

Today's Comic! I feel like not a lot of people know this, but yes Superman did indeed have a friend who was basically Popeye. Also Christopher Reeve and Robin Williams were college roommates. Worth pondering.

Planet Of The Apes weekly cover dated 50 years ago today.
Moench & Alcala’s adaptation of Conquest of the Planet of the Apes continues. It’s interesting to see lots of silent panels at a time when comics often had many text heavy panels, there’s no narrator box describing what’s happening either

Anyway wonder what the other Frazer is up to…
He’s reopened his elusive eBay shop to sell 42 items from the Tales From The Quarantine kickstarter. Money goes to charity, if you want to pay over the odds for them. Strangely there’s no sign of the 200 page books for sale, almost like they don’t exist

Big post delivery today. Mainly that Savage Tales book which I hadn’t realised was going to be so big. The new Dredd collection looks very skinny next to it.
I can see why I never paid any attention to Savage Tales when it was originally released. The covers were very off putting for me.

There was an audible gasp when I described the novel The Time Traveler’s Wife as ‘a creepy grooming time travel book’ at the book group I use to belong to.
