I like going for walks at my favorite rustic park in Minnesota.

All photos are my own, with no editing & no AI. I'm uncomfortable doing reposts, so they are rare.

This Minnesotan stands with Canada. Slava Ukraini

I feel grateful to find an encouraging #photography community on BlueSky

But with the unrelenting terror facing my city, I just don’t have the will or desire to share my usual photos.

Instead, I encourage you to follow photojournalists like Brandon who are capturing the reality of this moment (1)

Minnesota, my home, is carrying a heavy burden right now.

Being kind is not being weak. The strength to care for others, to love and protect our neighbors, to be a shield and not a sword, to be warmth in the cold is true Minnesota nice.

I hate what the demented orange clown has done to us, but I have never been more proud to be a Minnesotan. Thank you to the everyone who has supported us. We will stand with you if they invade you, too.

Found a toad in October, very late in the season.

This fills my heart, especially since today's high temperature was around -10 (-23 Celsius), plus wind. Stay strong, Minnesota. We've got this. ❤️
This is the scene in downtown Minneapolis this afternoon, where thousands of people have braved -25F wind chills to protest ICE operations in Minnesota.

I love this old tree, but it's teetering on the edge of the creek bank. Gravity and flood waters will take it down someday and it will break my heart.

Shocking news as Columbia Heights school officials say four students have been detained by ICE, including 5- and 10-year-olds who have already been sent to Texas. https://bringmethenews.com/minnesota-news/ice-detains-4-columbia-heights-students-including-5-and-10-year-olds-sent-to-texas

Two years ago today. We've had a lot more snow this winter.

It snowed again today. The cold temps go even lower on Thursday. So let's look at some sumacs to distract ourselves.

In Minnesota, we are shining.
Today there was a sun halo with tiny diamonds of frozen water double refracting the light.

@aiverynorth.bsky.social. To answer your question - We are not OK. They are statewide, not just in the metro. Towns with food-related jobs have already been visited, my town included. They will be back. The bad weather helps slow them down. It's been a long year and it's only January 18.
