The squirrels in my neighborhood are so literally overburdened with food that i routinely find whole slices of pizza in roof gutters and crooks of trees. But a full sized croissant abandoned in the geraniums, that’s new!

Preach! This means-ends flip also shows up in AI governance: "all that is required of civic participation in AI governance is an AI literate public." Accountability? Political influence? Unnecessary.
A reminder that "literacy" is inseparable from power, and it's noteworthy how OECD defines "literacy" in ways that align with Big Tech and its demands for informed, responsible users rather than definitions situated in sociopolitical contexts and practices that make space for resistance and refusal.
Nothing really exists in education until there is an OECD test for it. So we can now expect the international "AI literacy" ranking results in 2030, in case any countries wanted yet another way to be seen to perform on a made-up education metric.
