It is dangerous for the Chicago Police Department to continue to have access to ShotSpotter. This incident last week (in which police arrive due to a SST alert and start shooting at an unarmed person) is just one reason why. chicago.suntimes.com/crime/2024/1...

NEW: ShotSpotter failed to alert police to half of all shootings in the tenth district where a person was hit during a nine-month period between 2017-18, public records show.

This comes as Mayor Brandon Johnson mulls the fate of the $33 million contract, which expires on February 16.
