DISI folks, we've made a starter pack of alums and past faculty so it's easier to find everyone here. Enjoy!

And do tell us if you'd like to be added!

If we approached this medium as a form of literature, I believe it would become far more accepting. Post with the frenesí of emotions, but edit with a golden heart. Reread and rewrite, as all great writers do, instead of distilling hate into the conversation palimpsest after every moral mismatch.

One unfollow. Echo chamber within an echo chamber. People are quite special. The woke mind virus is aristocratic cancer beneath N layers of virtue signalling.

There is no social media for literary writers because the medium was eroded by its own style. Corrupted under the weight of a fully automated writing instrument which failed to colonise our souls. The unpronounceable corpse was exhumed. Hermeneuts mourn in silence, and we pace to cope with no avail.

This place needs a good dose of darkness. A red pilled cocktail minus the politics. Cioran will be.

Smartest people I know moved here just to perform a façade, which is fine. Yet, I value you more for your boldness than this bitter necessity against the imbecile elected and his industrial Stalinist acolyte.

Earth is a toponimical pseudonym of human error.

We are meant to be exterminated by an emergent bioweapon. Such a nuanced form of xenoparasitic ecoterrorism. Leave the rest of fauna intact so life can be as it does after the absence of our own cries and post-human echoes. Work of art, self-erasure turned autopoietic. Regenerative deccelerationism.

PhDs are a scam. Let’s accept it. Specially in the humanities. Not saying either corporate is better. Just that this is a necessary and unfortunate form of evil. People of the future help us halt this wordy machinery fuelling hypocritical pundits and masking xenophobic discourse with virtuepoetics.

Nothing, absolutely nothing will ever feel real after 2019.

Esta plataforma es un absoluto fracaso. ¿Hay comunidad de habla hispana aquí, la cámara de eco por excelencia de angloparlantes centristas?

I am glad.

What if you secretly want stable class systems with generalised convenience and not democracy?
Well behaved fellows are likely to be rewarded. Those who speak contextually. Things could have been worse! Cynicism wins, and always will. If caring gravitates towards unfeasible virtues, then we do care.

It was a solid idea. Not foundational in the nominal sense, since everything moves. What if my time had already passed and I was tricked into debating with dead poets? Analogies between paper machines and modern processors, despite recapitulating cabinets of curiosity failed to consolidate on paper.

Some may feel the comfort afforded by this echo chamber favours democratic principles. An increasingly fragmented internet (in content and infrastructure) proves the opposite. I am reminded of the time when ‘demos’ was not an all-inclusive category. Before collective agreement succumbed to ‘virtue’.

I am sure I am not the only one mourning the loss of the blue birb. This is better than nothing in any case, yet can’t help but feel this is faux-corporate and hardly authentic. The other hellsite is devolving into a badly maintained cultural lane way, and about to be gentrified by the far-right. 😣

Is there a compendium of the miniature lectures lost between departure announcement and boarding calls? An ephemeralia of thoughtful writing between no-places? Fleeting snapshots of intellectual optimism. If so, I would love to read it.

I was reminded of Leibniz cabinet of excerpts and its combinational possibilities as a personally addressable writing (memory) aid. #papermachines

I can see Australian species are underrepresented. To compensate I feel compelled to share John Hutchinson’s digitised tape archive, which is another amazing (non-commercial) use source. It is available through the state library website, here: slwa.wa.gov.au/stories/slwa...

Escheresque study day on the (ab)uses of AI. A collegial gathering where serious questioning of stylistic and epistemic conventions in a field born 68 years ago inspired inventive projections. Non-Euclidean flights of thought, with lines converging in one direction and diverging in another.

Where does the maths crew hangout in 🦋? I am aware that for the most part this site is allergic to politics, so looking to engage with fully dissociated formalism nerds instead. Any recommendations?

Apologies if at the moment I can’t share enticing pictures of my own research or happy slice of life moments. This platform can’t digest crafty aphorisms and is performatively non-chalant due to trauma. I will try to interact solely on the basis of curiosity. 🙂🐦💚

Is this the new LinkedIn for science? It may actually be a good thing.

What are the chances of communication without reliable authentication becoming indistinguishable from schizophrenia? Meaning that all meaning which cannot be externalised or collectively concretised risks turning into fuel for apophenia.

Symbolic saturation or Semiotic nihilism? When everything means everything else and nothing at all noisy shibboleths proliferate.
