Meta is killing their Facebook Like button for external sites in February 2026. Good riddance. Why are there still blogs out there still using it? When’s the last time you ever bothered clicking on one? They’re just UX and visual pollution at this point.

My thoughts on Liquid Glass and the 2020s design at Apple:
Liquid Glass will fade away like brushed metal did in Apple UIs of the 2000s.
It works well as a “statement piece” of a few UI elements in an app. Anything more is overused and distracting.

- Their app starts with a blurry non-Retina logo screen. Weird.
- They’re not making clear you just need to log in with your BlueSky account, not make a new one.
- It’s just a viewer of any image you posted on Bluesky, not a separate profile.

One food tradition I could do away with in Japan is getting snacks from colleagues after a trip.
I don’t like food waste, but the only way to respect myself while not hurting people’s feelings and explaining my habits is to accept the snack and immediately toss it in the trash.

Okay, nothing against SMT—they’re a fine cinema theatre chain in Japan. But their initialism just reminds me of a bus company back where I studied, called the same. We had affectionate names for it, like “Slow Motion Transport” and “Shit Must Travel.” 😅
