Hi Bluesky, it’s been a while!

A longer-than-planned maternity leave & a few deadline scrambles later, today I enjoyed presenting PhD progress to my Soc-B colleagues - albeit virtually!

In England, dads/partners are (often unintentionally) excluded from conversations about breastfeeding - but research shows that support from partners is SO IMPORTANT.

So this leaflet for dads and partners, made for Merton, is my small contribution🛟:

“Take a deep breath mummy, and put on your doctor clothes”

I spend a lot of time being mum. By far my favourite portfolio role. Miss 4 has been feeling nervous about her nativity role. I told her I was also feeling nervous, about doing a presentation at work today. She gives good advice ☺️

When we are talking about illnesses, conditions, and physical features often associated with race, do you ever wonder what, exactly, do we mean by “race”? Lucky for us and for the world, we have this handy guide from bioanthropologist Holly Dunsworth. 🧪

Good morning Bluesky!

A well thought out introduction this isn’t, as it’s toddler breakfast time and new school starter insists she is dressing herself this morning.

Soon I’ll get to posting about perinatal health and parental support, perhaps a bit of lactation science and CV health..
